This business needs something new, exciting and eye-catching. Well look out,
here it is, or should I say here he is. Saxophonist Dewayne Washington
has been noted as not only one of the best, but also one of the most dynamic
musicians in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. "I love working with Dewayne, he's
always so full of energy, he's got talent and he can definitely move a crowd
with a sax" says Gracey Tune of Gracey Tune Productions (sister of the great
Tommy Tune). Dewayne is most noted for being the founder and lead sax player for
Faces the Band who has received
notoriety world wide accolades such as this "Faces the baddest band on the
planet..." DallasBlack.com, "I WISH I could play like that"
President Bill Clinton!
The ever so changing marketplace could never
move too quickly for this youthful superstar in the making. His work ranges from
musicals such as Jubilee's "Straight no Chaser", to national events such the
Love Tour (with G.C. Cameron, former lead singer for Motown's The Spinners).
This dynamic young instrumentalist has accomplished a great deal in a
very short period of time. In his career, he has been all across America, From
Houston to New York. "This young man just doesn't stop" says G. C. Cameron. "We
need more young musicians like this to keep the music (jazz) alive" says
Atlantic record star saxophonist Gerald Albright in a conversation concerning
Dewayne. "It seems as though everything he touches turns to gold" says Nathan
Saddler (Marketing specialist for D.T. Entertainment).
Faces is
accredited with being one of the first bands in the U.S. to play a style of
music known as Gospel Jazz. Faces has shared the stage with many Jazz
Greats including Kirk Whalum, Gerald Albright, Norman Brown,
Will Downing, Spyro Gyra, Larry Carlton, Wayman Tisdale, Joseph Vencilli, Morris
Day and the Time and Joe McBride to name a few.
